This is a long overdue review, as I've been eating We Dat's for at least 5 years now. And it just keeps getting better!
I had first heard of We Dat's when they were transitioning from a food truck to their very first restaurant on Canal Street. They became a hit with many college kids nearby, known for their delectable wings and loaded fries. Soon enough, I saw We Dat's everywhere I went and I knew I had to try it! This location is super convenient when you happen to be walking downtown and need a break to have a bite to eat.
As for food, I typically get the same thing here. One of my favorite orders is a 6 piece BBQ wing with cajun ranch fries. Both flavors mesh together so well! I also love their wraps, particularly the shrimp wrap, which has cheese, lettuce, bellpeppers, ranch and fried shrimp.
Today I wanted to try something new for lunch, so I did two wing flavors: BBQ wings and Wuzzam Wings, named after our local celebrity and a friend of the owner, Wuzzam Supa! The Wuzzam Wings are tossed in buffalo sauce with lemon pepper seasoning sprinkled on top--talk about flavor! I got cajun ranch fries on the side, as usual (they go so well with everything). Service was speedy even though it was lunchtime and Syleena was great with taking my order and getting me my food nice and quick.
And now for my Pro Tips for We Dat's: 1. If you think you may be visiting around a busy time (on weekends or around lunchtime) call in your order so you can get it a bit quicker. 2. Always always always try the pineapple lemonade if they have it. All of their teas and lemonades are sooo good! 3. On Tuesdays they have a 75 cent wing special! -

Horrible small ass wings!
They look nothing like they advertised on Instagram!
I drove all the way from Dallas and I been dying to try We dat and it was trash!
Wings were small and my fries seem like the bottom scraps from the bag.
My food wasn't fresh and it taste like it had been reheated. Definitely won't spend another dime with them.
I'm all for supporting black businesses but this one let me down for sure -

We heard good things about We Dat and got there only to find the food to be good... nothing exciting, pretty standard wings, shrimp, chicken and fries.
That being said, the overall experience was less than desirable. Some of my friends ordered wings and were charged extra for ranch (1 little cup for $0.39 or 3 for $1). My other friends ordered shrimp and were told they could not have cocktail and tartar sauce. It was one or the other and if they wanted both they had to pay. There were "special" juices behind the counter (no refills) that were and additional $0.50. After trying them we decided one was Country Time Lemonade and the other Fruit Punch Kool Aid. Lastly the fries came out cold and the cheese on the loaded fries was not melted.
In short I'd say we were nickle and dimed for overpriced, mediocre quality food -

Like most, myself and my group (4 total) came here because this place looked dope on Instagram. Don't believe the hype. (PeriodT). I was so disappointed!
I placed my order at the same time as the rest of my group yet everyone in the entire restaurant got their food before me. I waited a total of 56 minutes for 10 wings and fries. I mentioned to the girl at the counter twice that I had been waiting way too long for my food, sis had a whole attitude and brushed me off the first time as if I were being impatient after waiting 30 minutes! I should have left at that point but I already paid for my food!
When I FINALLY got my food (5 lemon pepper, 5 wuzzam wings and wuzzam fries) I was extra disappointed. You guys remember the cinnamon challenge? Well you gunna be doing the lemon pepper challenge if u get those lemon pepper wings let me tell you. I love me some spice but these were unbearable. They were so salty and had so much lemon pepper my throat was burnt for the rest of the day. The wuzzam wings were just ok. The fries are literally just regular old fries with lemon pepper hot sauce on them.
With all the amazing food options in New Orleans, I advise u to go anywhere else. Don't waste your time and don't kill your taste buds with that lemon pepper rendering them useless to experience the flavors of all the other dope options nearby. -

I had an interesting experience at this location. It was my first meal i had when landing in New Orleans and i saw they had great reviews so i gave it a try.
When arriving, the environment is vibrant with lots of art in the walls and a mix of new and old music hits. I checked in upon arrival and reviewed at 10% off coupon saving me about $3 on my meal.
I took my order to go and did not think i needed to check to confirm my order was correct before leaving. Upon opening me food, my order was incorrect . I asked for half shazzam and half lemon pepper and got all Shazam.. my friend also split flavors and only got one. We added toppings to our fries and these toppings were also mixed up giving me some of what i orders and some of what my friend ordered leaving us to have to split each of our fries.
The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't what i ordered or was craving so i definitely recommend always confirming your order is correct before taking it to go because i didn't finish my small 6 piece meal when i can usually eat a 10piece.
